If a PIN code has been set on a DPM8000 device and it is no longer known, the device cannot be unlocked easily. This behavior is deliberately implemented as a security feature to protect stored dictations and settings from unauthorized access.
Behavior with Unknown PIN
The device prompts for the PIN code every time it is turned on.
If the code is entered incorrectly multiple times, the message PUK2 Unlock Code appears.
Without the correct PIN, the device remains unusable.
Is There a Default PIN or Admin Code?
No.
There is neither a default PIN nor a general admin or master code. Neither the manufacturer nor support can recover the originally set PIN.
PUK2 Code
After multiple incorrect entries, a PUK2 Unlock Code is displayed.
This message means that the device is permanently locked unless further unlocking is performed.
Upon request, we can generate a PUK2 code to make the device accessible again.
A valid proof of purchase or other proof of ownership is required for this.
In any case, a support ticket must be opened so that our team can review the process and provide the appropriate PUK2 code.
Conclusion
A set PIN cannot be recovered.
Without the correct PIN, the device remains locked.
With proof of purchase or ownership and a support ticket, our support can generate a PUK2 code.
This restriction is part of the security concept of the DPM8000 series.
Note for Users:
Please keep the PIN safe and prevent unauthorized persons from accessing the device. If a PIN is forgotten, further operation is only possible with the PUK2 code, valid proof of ownership, and a support ticket.
