We will also address frequently occurring error messages during login and provide you with practical tips on how to avoid or resolve them. This way, you can ensure that you can work with SpeechExec anytime and at any workplace without being interrupted by license issues.
Can I install SpeechExec on multiple computers?
Yes, you can install the Philips SpeechExec software (Pro or Basic) on as many workstations as you like. The software itself does not impose any technical limitation on the number of installations.
Why do I receive the message "License already in use"?
Although installation is unlimited, licensing is based on the single-user principle.
This means:
A license (Product Key / SpeechID) may not be active on multiple devices at the same time.
The software detects if a session is still open on another PC.
Common error messages:
"Login to SpeechID failed. This license is already assigned to another computer. Click OK to continue"
Solution: How to correctly switch between two computers
To start and continue using the software on a new PC, it is necessary to properly end the session on the previous device. This process ensures that your license is correctly transferred and that there are no problems logging in on the new computer. Please proceed as follows:
Close the software: First, you must completely exit SpeechExec on the old computer. You can do this by
either clicking the "X" at the top right of the program window or selecting the "File" option in the menu and then clicking "Exit." This will properly close the running session and prepare the license deregistration.
Wait for synchronization: After you have closed the software, it is important to wait a short moment. During this time, the license server can register that you have logged off on the old device. This is necessary so that the license can then be used again on another computer. The waiting time is usually only a few seconds.
Login on the new PC: Once you have ensured that the logout on the old device has taken place, you can start SpeechExec on the new computer. Now log in with your email address (SpeechID) and your password. The login should work without any problems, as the license is now released for the new device.
Tip for IT administrators: If it happens that a computer is defective and you can no longer manually end the session, please contact our support. Our team can reset the session for you on the server so that the license is available again and you can use the software on another device.
